PROGRAMS
Children's Home Society Child Protection Team Program (CPT) operates on
the premise that the causes, identification and treatment of child abuse
and neglect are complex and require the expertise of many professionals
to effectively intervene and ensure the child's protection. Child Protection
Teams provide needed medical, psychological and social consultants to
assist the Department of Children and Families, Law Enforcement and professionals
working with these children and families.
Adoption services finds homes for infants and special needs children.
Services include: international adoptions, birth parent services, court
ordered custody studies, identified adoptions, attorney assisted adoptions
and adoption follow-up services.
The Early Intervention Program provides early intervention to prevent
developmental delays and promote progress for any child from birth to
36 months who is at risk for a delay. Services include helping parents
use educational play activities with their child, physical and speech
therapy, vision and hearing services, nursing and medical services, assertive
technology, nutritional planning, family counseling, and transportation
for services.
Targeted Case Management is responsible for coordinating services for
children receiving mental health services with state dollars. The case
managers locate and coordinate the appropriate educational, physiological,
medical, social, and other supportive services. Children must be Medicaid
eligible and have a DSM4 diagnosis that interferes with their functioning.
The Teen Parenting program based at Haney Vocational Center provides
education, information, and referral assistance, including counseling
to pregnant and parenting teens. Services are delivered on-site. [ Top
